• Prepare for the GMAT/GRE

• Schedule your test date

• Research requirements of the programs/schools

• Take the GMAT or GRE

• Stay in the loop by signing up for information from schools (Emailers, Social Media, Events)

 

3 months prior to application:

• Create or edit your professional resume

• Ask for recommendations (LORs)

• Start gathering your transcripts

• Begin working on your essays

 

3 weeks before the deadline:

• Get your essays ready (Edit them n number of times)

• Meet mentors, recommenders, professionals

 

2 weeks before deadline:

• Review and upload essays

• Review online application for accuracy

 

Day before deadline:

• Send reminder email to recommenders (if they are bound to submit LORs for you)

• Revise the application

 

Deadline:

• Submit

 

PS: This timeline is recommended for all the top league schools across the globe. Just like you take CAT almost a year before you enter IIMs, you need to start almost a year in advance prior to flying abroad!
